I later discovered one of my younger colleagues was taking advantage of texting short hand. She later provided me this list of texting symbols with their English translation.

- ? - what?
- 1 - one (Numbers are not usually spelled out.)
- 2 - two, to, too (Tomorrow becomes 2moro.)
- 3 - three, tree (The name Trina becomes 3na.)
- 4 - four, for (Forget becomes 4get.)
- 8 - eight; ate (Mate becomes m8.)
- a - preferred over per
- attn - attention
- b - be, bee (Wana b my txtm8?)
- b4 - before
- bc - busy
- bin - not a good substitute for been (Bin means container.)
- bkit - bakit?
- btw - by the way
- btwn - between
- bye - good bye
- c - see; sea (Sino ay nagiging cno?)
- coz - because
- cul8r - See you later.
- d - the; hindi

I though RSVP mean't something in French ? :)
It's also a network protocol used to request guaranteed bandwidth, typically for multimedia
